First 5k Run Layout

Hey everyone! I wanted to share this layout I finished last night. My husband and me completed our very first 5k run. We didn't run the whole thing but that was fine with me, I was still proud of both of us. On this layout I used paper from the Amy Tangerine "Sketchbook" line and also Heidi Swapp "No Limits" & "Sugar Chic". I used washi tape, American Crafts Thickers, and also some random buttons and brads. The stamps that say "remember" & "today" are from the Heidi Swapp stamp set that you can find at Michael's craft store. Over all I am very happy with how this layout turned out. Thanks for stopping by!

12x12 Layouts!

I have recently been into doing more 12x12 layouts. Here are two of my most recent ones.

This layout is titled "Lily & Me" I embossed around the edge of the paper then painted over it. I used distress paints and stains and also liquitex acrylic paint. I used Heidi Swapp color shine sprays and color magic paper. I love how this one turned out.

I titled this layout "fill today with light and LAUGHTER and love". I printed "fill today with light and laughter" on vellum that I found on Heidi Swapps blog. It was a free printable that you can find here. I used liquitex paint on the background and also made splatters with color shine in mustard. I layered papers stickers and star sequins to get this look.

Thickers!!!!

Hey guys! So sorry I have been gone for a long time. A lot has happened since I last posted, I married the love of my life, Alex in November of 2011, and we are so happy. I am now a dance teacher, and I love every minute of it. I plan on posting a lot more. Hopefully a few times a week. But anyways lets move on to why we are all here. I was at Target yesterday and there is a Marshall's right beside it. I thought I would stop in to see if they had more thickers in yet. All of Marshall's thickers are $1.49!! (I had been checking for weeks!) I was in luck!! They had stocked up. They didn't have a lot but I did clean them out!! The guy at the check out lane said they had just put them out! So glad I stopped in. I ended up going home with 14 packs.

Beaded Key Chains

Hey guys, I just wanted to show you some key chains that I have been working on. I love all of these key chains, the blue one is my favorite. I made the charms out of beads, and I also used some other charms that I bought at Hobby Lobby. I used jump rings to attach them to the chain, and put two charms for every chain link (some I put more than two). All of the beads I used were glass. These key chains from my experience won't break. Occasionally one or two charms will fall off if you are being too rough with them. But if you think about it that goes for most things. Here are some pictures of them, I hope you enjoy!

Tiny Bird's Nest

Hey everyone, I just wanted to share these cute little bird's nests with you. I created them by threading beads onto the wire and then twisting the wire to look like a little nest. I attached chain and a keyring to the nest and I added a few charms to them also. Aren't they just adorable?
Have a great weekend!!

Happy Mother's Day

Here is the Mother's Day card that I made for my mom. She loved it when I gave it to her. :) I used to Tim Holtz Sizzix die for the bird and bird cage, and K&Co Life's Journey paper. I put tulle in the background and painted and distressed it. I think it turned out really cute. Hope you enjoy :)

Altered Book

Hey everyone! So this is what I've been up to lately. I altered a book that I bought at goodwill. I was inspired by Marion Smith on her live show a while ago. She had altered a book like this one. I tore all of the pages out from the cover. Then I just went to town painting on the cover. After that was done I cut pages of patterned paper to fit inside. I sewed them together and then glued them to the cover. Then I just embellished the front of the book. :) I think it turned out really cute and I can't wait to start putting pictures in it.
